Shaun Scott

Shaun Scott, President of Late October Lifestyle was born in Dallas, Texas. He comes by his musical inclination honestly as his maternal and paternal grandfathers were singers and musicians. He started singing and playing the trumpet and drums at age 9. At age 11, he switched to the trombone and began playing the bass and guitar. It wasn’t until age 16 that Mr. Scott says he truly recognized his own talent and began to write lyrics, musical compositions, and arrangements. When asked what personal experiences have influenced his music to date he says, “On a daily basis, the people and things around me influence me. I continue to grow as I experience new things.” Mr. Scott has drawn inspiration from artists such as Earth, Wind, and Fire, D’Angelo, Duke Ellington, Herbie Hancock, Prince, and Count Basie. When asked to pick two producers that he would like to work and learn from with he cites Timbaland and Ryan Leslie.

Within Late October Lifestyle, Mr. Scott serves as a music producer, songwriter, and singer. His talent coupled with the ability of his colleagues to leverage cutting edge technology to bring together each other’s different styles, and collaborate from a distance allows Late October Lifestyle to produce a sound that is unlike anything else and produce considerate music production that is not overbearing and truly showcases the artist. His musical ear and 20 years of music making experience allows him to move away from traditional trends, seek out what’s different, and present new ideas to those he collaborates with. Mr. Scott describes himself as a bit of a perfectionist as he feels that the biggest room in the world, is the room for improvement. Outside of music, Mr. Scott spends time with his family, plays video games, plays basketball, and works out for fun. When asked the age old question of what his musical aspiration is, he says that it hasn’t changed since high school and that he wants to be involved in every facet of the music industry and adds matter-of-factly says “to be a music mogul”.
